It’s that time of year again when bloggers across the country are starting to see pumpkin lattes, pumpkin beers, and Halloween decorations pop up in their areas. It’s also the time when most places are experiencing a bit of change in weather. The days are getting shorter, the temps may be cooling off a bit and everyone is getting excited to put on their favorite jackets and boots.
Not here. Sigh.
Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Arizona. I will take a couple of months of oven-like temperatures over months of cold and snow any day. I think I’m just getting a little stir crazy. I’m eager for the days I can open up my windows and air my house out. I’m also VERY eager for the days my electric bill won’t be outrageous. It actually hurt to pay that bill last month.
I know I can stick out for the next couple of months though, and then we’ll be in that perfect time of year when we can start bragging about how beautiful it is where we live.
While I was Fall Dreamin’ I came up with a few other things I’m eager for fall to arrive for:
Dark Colors
Clothing, nail polish, dying my hair back to a darker shade, etc. I’m very pale, so I feel like I look better in dark colors. I think lighter shades just wash me out, so I’m excited to dress myself in darker hues.
Football
Good ol’ American Football. NFL baby!
I can’t wait for Football Sundays (and Monday nights!) to arrive. I’m especially excited for the Fantasy Football league I’m in to get going (more on that tomorrow).
Four Peaks Brewery’s Pumpkin Porter
The only pumpkin beer I will go out of my way for. It’s only served for a limited time, so it’s a pretty hot commodity in these parts while they are selling it. If you live in the area I highly recommend you get to Four Peaks as soon as they start selling it and get yourself one! Speaking of pumpkins…
Halloween
One of my favorite holidays. I love the candy, decorations and dress up opportunities. I think I know what I want to be this year…
Ever since I read Breaking Dawn in 2008 I have wanted to be Vampire Bella, if only to wear the cool colored contact lenses. Now that the movie is coming out (something else I’m excited for this Fall!), I think it’s the right year to make this costume happen.
Overall, Fall just brings a lot of fun events too, so I’m pumped that it’s on it’s way.

Fun post! I am feeling the same way about fall – Its one of those seasons for us here in AZ that comes and goes in a flash (but I always try to drag it out as long as I can!). You hit on so many of the things that I love about fall too

Fall is definitely my favorite season! It is quickly getting cold here in Boston already. I am sooo looking forward to boots and Fall fashion!
Pumpkin Porter is my most favorite beer….ever. Ship me some when it comes available? I used to call 4 Peaks every day, beginning October 1st to know the exact day in which it’d be ready for drinking. Le Sigh.
